Governor Edward G. Rendell believes that every Pennsylvanian deserves access to affordable, quality health care. To help make that possible, he created the Governor’s Office of Health Care Reform. GOHCR has worked on issues ranging from medical malpractice and Governor Rendell’s abatement program for physicians and nurse midwives, to a Community Health Reinvestment program with the state’s Blue Cross/Shield plans, to revamping the way Pennsylvania delivers long term living services. Its most important project is Governor Rendell’s bold “Prescription for Pennsylvania” - a set of integrated practical strategies for improving health care and containing costs for all Pennsylvanians. The core components are affordability, accessibility and quality. The Pennsylvania Health Information Exchange (PHIX) Draft Strategic Plan public comment phase has now concluded. GOHCR will post a summary document of the appropriate comments in the near future. Thank you for your review and comments. Based on some of the questions received, we have created this Frequently Asked Questions Document regarding the Proposed Strategic Plan You may view the comments received here Part 1 and here Part 2.
